Never Making It Easy

What a turn of events over the weekend. The Bruins come into Friday with a 3-1 lead on the Maple Leafs with game 5 in Boston. Anyone that knows hockey would say that the Bruins are in good position and should finish it off. Any Bruins fan thought the same, but knew that the Bruins always make it difficult on themselves. Well what do you know. Monday morning, the Bruins are sitting here tied 3-3 going into game 7. I love the Bruins in game 7 because of the experience, but if the Bruins do not wake up and play their game, their season will be ending tonight.

I am not even going into details of the last game. Dion Phaneuf and Phil Kessel scored. Those are the last two people as a Bruins fan that I want to see scoring. The worst part of all this is that the Bruins never get beat, they always beat themselves. Terrible turnovers will ultimately lead to their demise and David Krejci who has been so good, made a terrible mistake and turnover which lead to the Phaneuf goal. On top of that, the Bruins have no played physical at all the last 2 games. It gets so frustrating when nobody on the Bruins is trying to put someone through the glass. They are supposed to be the biggest and baddest team in the NHL and 80% of the time, nobody wants to hit. Just once, would I like to see someone take a run at Dion Phaneuf. If anyone on that Maple Leafs team deserves it, its him. Yet the Bruins just let him take runs and nobody touches him. It is really getting frustrating watching this series, which makes me wonder how I didn’t die of a heart attack during the Stanley Cup run.

I am not going to go on a rant about this, because I could honestly go on for days about this topic. There are so many questions that come up if the Bruins lose this game. Someone needs to get fired or traded, there is no way that the Bruins can just stand pat and hope for the best next season. Bruins fans are some of the best in hockey. They are not like Celtics fans that will let the team get away with anything and support them. Tyler Seguin needs to get his head out of his you know what if he wants people in Boston to back him. Its time to stop being a pretty boy who has had everything easy in life, and start wanting to be the best and wanting to be a face of the Boston Bruins. The motivation needs to come from within if you do not want to be the next potential superstar run out of this town. There are a lot of things that need to be better if this team wants to be a serious cup contender. Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand are two players that need to step up.

This is a big game tonight. The Bruins need to come ready to play. They have the advantage of being at home, but that means nothing if they aren’t going to be physical and play to win the game, not just glide around and hope the bounces go their way. If they do not show up, Boston is going to be outraged with the Bruins. On top of that, it means nothing but baseball until September when the NFL starts, that gets old quick (no offense Red Sox). I hope I have a positive entry for the Bruins fans tomorrow. All I want is someone to hit Dion Phaneuf, please and thank you.
